…believe. The future looks bright for this young Toronto-based duo started a few months ago by Robert Alfons - a young handsome singer/songwrter/keyboardist whose 80’s bad boy look could have got him a role in the movie picture Fight Club - and the lovely Maya Postepski - who plays drums and keys and has recently helped Austra (Domino) with the recording of her debut album as well as being into Cocorosie’s backing band on their latest tour. Trust has got nothing to do with the Hard Rock French act of the 80’s but rather sounds like the coldwave synth-pop of that time, although Robert’s voice is musch warmer and soulful that the usual cavernous rant of the genre. It’s actually quite impressive to hear such strong and mature vocals coming out of such a fragile and young body. Trust have already penned a few pop classics such as ‘Candy Walls’ and ‘Sulk’ and their debut album ‘TRST’ is coming out at the end of this month on Arts & Crafts, the label that released the other Toronto acts Broken Social Scene and The Hidden Camera.
